Plans For The Performance

Our performance will be on the 18th or 19th on June. The performance will start with a performance of a song called Greased Lightning, then followed by another song called Candy, then our grand finale will be a song called Waving Flag. In our grande finale, the singers is going to perform a small intro before the drummers (people drumming with buckets) will join in, also there will be at least two people holding flags.

Reflection June 4th

Throughout this semester, I learn that I should respect others for who they are and for what they can do but also to work with other people who I might not be able to get along or be close to. I feel like next time I should be more prepared also to get along with be people that I will be working with.

Changes made so far

Throughout the semester, we had to make changes that would benefit our performance. Some of the changes we had made are; changes made in the key of the song, on some occasions, we had to change our key to make the song better. We had a major change in our schedule, the performance was actually on June 4th but we ended up changing it to the 18th or 19th of June because we felt like we were not ready yet.

Updates on Waving Flag

Our third song or what we can call our "grand finale" is called "Waving Flag". In my opinion, this song is still very raw, we still need to learn our own roles also we have not incorporated other instruments such as kolintang, drums, and guitar, as we only have piano and flute so far. Since we still need to get a lot of work done and we are running out of time, i'm not sure if we can finish this song. My role for this song is a main singer as i will be singing with Chan for this song.

Updates on Candy

Our second song that we well be performing is called Candy. So far this song has been going very smooth, on some occasions we had to change the key or add a part to make it sound better. In this song, i am part of the Kolintang, the melody ones. For the Kolintang, we had to make a few minor changes, but ones we did we had to change whole song into a different key. All we need to do is to make our timing perfect also we need to work out the ending of this song.

Updates on Greased Lighting

One of our songs that we are going to perform is a song called "Greased Lightning". So far, this song has been going pretty well, there might be some timing issues with the singers and the instruments but we still manage to at least create a foundation or base for this song. My role in this song is a backup vocal for the main singer and also a dancer, but only if we have time left. The only thing that we still need to figure out is the ending of the song.

Presentation for each theme

We decided to choose our theme by doing a presentation, we had some time to create some kind of presentation for us to be able to present to the audience. I had created a presentation from an online website called Prezi, my topic was "Song of the Seasons" which was about different types of songs from each season. We gathered around ten songs for each season.

Reflection April 22, 2015

For these past weeks, we have decided our songs that we are going to perform also our roles and parts for each song. The three songs that we are going to perform is; Greased lightning, Candy, and Waving Flag. In the beginning the songs were in many different keys, but in the end all our songs are in C Major.

I had chosen to be the leader of the Kolintang instrument for the song Candy and a singer for Waving Flag. Unfortunately I am unable to take action in the Kolintang section instead, I will be focusing on Waving Flag more since it is the grand finale of the performance.
